We also use your personal information for marketing, promotional, and other commercial or non-commercial communications. For these purposes ALA may share applicants' and/or registrants’ personal information with other persons such as employees, speakers, volunteers, service providers (including medical practitioners) and donors. ALA does not permit these parties to use such information for any other purpose than to perform the services that ALA has instructed them to provide. In some instances, ALA may also collect sensitive information about applicants or registrants, such as information about their membership to a professional or trade association or trade union, their health (including disability), their racial or ethnic origin, or any criminal record. Consent is obtained for the collection of such information. There may be occasions when ALA obtains personal information from a third party, for example through nominations.
