Human centered design is at the core of GSP. Participants learn through experiential activities and group discussions how it can be used to drive positive social change. Through ALA’s flagship BUILD (Believe, Understand, Invent, Listen, Deliver) design-thinking model, students learn to investigate root causes of problems and meaningfully connect with their community partners. They also generate solutions, learn to prototype, and practice giving and receiving feedback. Participants gain tools and confidence to create long-lasting change.
These skills are crucial in a world that increasingly calls for creative thinking, entrepreneurship, and innovation in the quest for solutions to complex global issues.
